Host was established in 2005 by Jon Levy, director of foto8, and Adrian Evans, director of Panos Pictures. Photojournalism - from classical black and white reportage to contemporary mixed media - is their main area of interest with frequently compelling shows by some well known names. Between them, the photographers they represent have more than 50 years of experience in newspapers, magazines, picture agencies, design, and journalism. The gallery also produces EI8HT magazine as well as the owners' former businesses: the website foto8.com and picture agency Panos Pictures. The calibre of the gallery is obvious from the shows they present and clients they attract; names like Weegee vintage prints, Diamond Matters by Kadir von Lohuizen, Department for International Development, Global Witness and Pan Macmillan.
